Cristiano Ronaldo Says He Doesn't Know His Accuser Jasmine Lennard

Ronaldo's lawyer, Peter S. Christiansen, issued a statement on behalf of the Portugal global, saying: "Mr. Ronaldo has always maintained, as he does today, that what occurred in Las Vegas in 2009 was consensual in nature, so it is not surprising that DNA would be present, nor that the police would make this very standard request as part of their investigation".

Ronaldo denies all claims made against him.

Mayorga has alleged that Ronaldo raped her at a Las Vegas hotel in June 2009 after they met at a nightclub, where she was working at as a model to entice guests into the establishment.

He did not immediately confirm a Wall Street Journal report citing an unnamed law enforcement source saying that Las Vegas police obtained a warrant that was sent to Italy to obtain a DNA sample from the 33-year-old Ronaldo, who plays for the Turin-based club Juventus.

Mayorga has previously indicated that she did not continue pressing charges out of fear of retribution from Ronaldo's camp, instead deciding to take a $375,000 settlement that came with a non-disclosure agreement that prevented her from further speaking on the matter.

The civil lawsuit accuses Ronaldo and his representatives of conspiracy, coercion and fraud, defamation, battery, breach of contract, and negligence, according to The Associated Press.

Ronaldo has denied the allegation. However, he maintains that they had consensual sex and he did not rape her. The Journal reported that Mayorga's DNA is on the dress, and so is the DNA of an unknown party.

Las Vegas Police initially investigated in 2009, but had no named suspect at the time, as the victim did not provide the location or name.

On the same day Mayorga says she was raped, she went to the police to report it and had a rape kit done.

A key piece of evidence in the investigation is a dress from the night in question nine years ago.
