We could sign one or two players - but not Cahill?

Arsenal have failed with an attempt to swap Aaron Ramsey for Juventus centre-back Mehdi Benatia.

Ramsey signed a five-year deal at Arsenal in March 2014 and has been running it down so that he could leave on a free transfer in summer 2019.

The publication writes that Emery wants Suarez on loan until the end of the season.

Ramsey's impending departure comes after Arsenal's decision to withdraw the offer of a new £180,000-a-week contract in September. Juventus have been heavily linked with a free transfer for the 28-year-old, whilst there have also been reports that the Serie A giants will offer a transfer fee to sign Ramsey in the coming weeks. "But I am very proud of his commitment and how he helped the team today". The former England midfielder had come to the end of the road after too many injuries and missed opportunities at the Emirates, but Ramsey is a player who still has plenty to offer.

A defensive reinforcement would appear to be a priority for Unai Emery, who has seen his side struggle at the back of late.

Arsenal will tackle Blackpool on Saturday evening in the FA Cup fixture.

Navas has signed a one-year contract extension with Real that could keep him at the club until 2021.

"It [Ramsey's contract] is due to expire and we are always attentive to the situations that can be created".

"We didn't speak about him [Cahill]", Emery told the press.

Do you think Ramsey will be a success in Italy? It's certainly a positive when you can say that new player X improves a team at a certain position, but ultimately a transfer move truly makes an impact when it bridges the gap with your competitors.
