The crown prince will be staying in Pakistan for two days.

The US tech giant's cloud computing arm, Amazon Web Services, had been in talks over opening data centres in the Gulf kingdom, with crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally courting Mr Bezos on a US trip past year.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will sign a number of agreements and MoUs in diverse sectors.

He went on to say that the historic visit of the crown prince has ushered in a new chapter in bilateral ties. One, China will be the largest economy in 2030, and two, India will be the third largest economy in 2030.

During the official talks, the Crown Prince praised openness and efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan for dialogue with India and the opening of the Kartarpur crossing point and the efforts exerted by both sides.

The crown prince's visit to Islamabad comes as the Taliban appeared to postpone a round of talks with the U.S. set to be held in Pakistan this week, according to the group's spokesman.

But that is now in doubt after the Taliban's planned meeting with Khan, also set for Sunday, was called off at the last minute, Taliban sources said.

The ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace and was attended by Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa among others. The crown prince will, however, visit India. "The recent visit of the prime minister and your visit has cemented the friendship between us", he said.

As part of the preparation to welcome the Saudi Royal and his delegation, 750 rooms in eight hotels have been booked while seven BMW 7s, a Land Cruiser and eight containers have arrived in Pakistan from Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi crown prince is likely to reach Islamabad at 7pm on Sunday.

On Saturday, Pakistani leader Khan told the Saudi Gazette newspaper that his country would defend Saudi Arabia in the event of attack.

Bin Salman's return visit has come at a sensitive time for Pakistan. The royal entourage will later be taken to the airport under strict security. He was greeted by Prime Minister Imran Khan and given a red-carpet welcome with a 21-gun salute.

In October, Manchester United pulled out of an investment forum in Saudi Arabia amid the fallout from Khashoggi's death.

Prime Minister Khan has already visited Saudi Arabia twice since coming to power last summer.
