Prince Harry, Meghan Markle step out in snowy winter wonderland

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a wintry welcome to the English city, which is about 120 miles from their London home.

Despite the cold weather, the couple were all smiles as they met fans and children, but Meghan - who is pregnant with the couple's first child - sparked concern among some people over her choice of footwear for the occasion.

Harry and Meghan were shown around and took seats inside the large vehicle, which is stocked with blankets, ready for the freezing temperatures amid winter snow storms.

It was south-west England, where Meghan and Harry are visiting, that was worst hit by the wintry weather last night. She accented her dress with olive green boots that appear to be by designer Sarah Flint and retail for $695.

Before her romance with Prince Harry was announced, the then Meghan Markle was best known for playing Rachel Zane in US legal drama "Suits", a role she quit ahead of her marriage in May.

Their first engagement saw Harry and Meghan, a former actress, visit the city's Old Vic, built in 1766 and the oldest continuously working theater in the English-speaking world.

For her latest hairdo, the Duchess of Sussex gave the ultimate cool-girl hairstyle, the top knot, a royal makeover.

On Thursday, Katharine McPhee posted a photo of her and Markle getting ready to perform in a musical when they were younger.

It was confirmed earlier in the morning Harry and Meghan's visit would go ahead despite the snow.

And the 37-year-old thanked royal fans for waiting to greet them, saying: "Thank you for waiting so long to say hi, our train was a little bit delayed but we tried our best to get here fast". While packing the lunches, Meghan had the idea to write positive messages on the bananas, according to Kensington Palace.
