In acquiring Memphis Grizzlies centre Marc Gasol at the trade deadline for Jonas Valanciunas, C.J. Miles and Delon Wright, the Raptors roster now stands at 10 players (not including Chris Boucher and Jordan Loyd's two-way contracts), meaning the team will definitely look to grab a player or two off the buyout market to fill current holes in the roster.

Mike Conley on the trade block and prefers a move to the Eastern Conference.

With the addition of Gasol, the Raptors have reshaped their roster along with the offseason acquisition of two-time Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard.

The Raptors are now second in the Eastern Conference with a record of 39-16, while the Grizzlies rank among the worst in the league at 22-23. "I think we all know that those playoffs can get wild and woolly, and he's a guy that's been through them many times".

"I think that there's a lot of positives with a guy like Gasol, and I think majority come with being battle-tested", Nurse said.

The trade is not yet official, but who's kidding who, when Woj reports it, it's a done deal.

The Warriors don't face the Raptors again during the regular season, so they will only match up against Gasol if the two teams reach the NBA Finals. He had surgery after suffering a dislocated left thumb on December 12 and has not played since. Miles, Delon Wright and a second-round pick.

Wright, who was selected 20th overall by the Raptors in the 2015 draft, is averaging 6.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game this year.

Parker averaged 7.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.7 rebounds per game last season for the Spurs. Toronto already has an impressive defensive rating (107.3) that ranks eighth-best among all National Basketball Association teams.
