Sixers trade Markelle Fultz to Orlando Magic

The 76ers traded up in the 2017 draft with the rival Boston Celtics to grab Fultz with the first pick, a move that has failed in hindsight as Boston got arguably the best player in the draft with the No. 3 pick in Jayson Tatum.

Wow, I'm not going to lie, that's a pretty solid haul.

"We want to make sure he's 100 percent and healthy when he does come back", Brothers said. The top pick is a top-20 protected first-round pick from the Thunder and a second-round pick via Cleveland. Simmons, who was averaging 6.9 points and 2.3 assists in 20 minutes this season, figures to be a useful player off the bench for Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia 76ers are trading Markelle Fultz to the Orlando Magic, ESPN reports.

Though Fultz became the first teenager in National Basketball Association history to record a triple-double, doing so on the final game of the 2017-18 regular season, he's also struggled to find his shooting stroke.

Fultz who's just 20 years old has been in and out of the lineup with a nagging shoulder and wrist injury.

If Simmons meshes well with the other Simmons and company, then the Sixers can retain the 6-foot-6 defensive winger for half the price of Fultz's contract, but if he's underwhelming, the team can simply cash out for a minor nominal fee and reinvest that money into a more useful piece, like J.J. First, they added Jimmy Butler from the Minnesota Timberwolves, and just a few days ago they picked up Tobias Harris from the Clippers. The C's acquired him with the third pick in the draft, which they swapped to Philly for the No. 1 pick and a future first-rounder that will likely be Sacramento's and end up in the teens. After a less than lackluster tenure, the Markelle Fultz tenure is finally over.
