NFL Combine 2019: Should we really be celebrating Kyler Murray's measurements?

NFL Combine 2019: Should we really be celebrating Kyler Murray's measurements?

At the poking-and-prodding-and-measuring combine, Murray was expected to be closer to 5-9, which would have stacked the odds against him.

Based on that "Trends for you" information, Murray's height was not only the most important news break in sports Thursday morning, but it was a bigger topic than the abrupt end of president Donald Trump's summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to discuss denuclearization. Meaning Murray was not only small, but also slight.

Murray is listed at 5-foot-10, and he may actually be shorter than that.

Murray's height will be officially measured at the combine.

Gruden said he met with Murray and Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins Wednesday.

While it's up to the quarterbacks to decide whether it makes sense to work out at the Combine, Murray's statement from earlier in the month created the clear impression that he'll be doing anything and everything in his power to prove that he's the best quarterback available in the draft.

"#Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray told scouts & personnel people of several National Football League teams that he doesn't plan to throw at the Combine, sources say".

When it comes to the combine's on-field drills, NFL Network and the NFL Media group will provide extensive coverage throughout the week, beginning on Friday, March 1 with running backs, offensive linemen, and special teams. "They cautioned Murray is a competitor who could throw after seeing everyone else do it, but as of last night, Murray's plan is not to do much", Rapoport tweeted.

Still, he would be the shortest quarterback taken in the first round, should that happen.
