Samsung Galaxy S10 5G pre-orders open at Verizon on April 18

Samsung's first 5G phone will launch in Korea on Friday, with prices starting at around $1,231 for the 256GB version, but you won't have to wait too long to get one in the USA, as the Verizon version is rumored to launch in mid-May.

The Galaxy S10 5G puts the unrivalled power, speed and connectivity of 5G networks directly into the hands of consumers.

Commercialising 5G gives South Korea the chance to build around the technology, which is crucial for the future development of devices such as autonomous vehicles and the Internet of Things.

A more recent report from Bloomberg points out that Verizon customers will actually be able to pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G starting April 18.

As yet there no details on how much the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will cost, as soon as we get some information we will let you guys know.

Samsung's Galaxy S10 5G allows users to reach internet speeds of up to 20 times faster than with the current 4G network standard. That's because the phone doesn't just offer 5G support; it also sports a bigger screen and battery than the Galaxy S10+.

Samsung launched its 2019 flagship device, Samsung Galaxy S10, in February this year with its first-ever ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.

As one of the only companies with an end-to-end 5G solution from chipsets, network core, radio solutions and user devices, Samsung is uniquely positioned to deliver a next-generation smartphone and network - in Korea, the 5G commercial network has been on air since December 1st 2018 by all mobile operators using Samsung's 5G network core and radio solutions.

Hours later United States giant Verizon began commercial services in Chicago and Minneapolis, after rival AT&T made a 5G-based system available to selected users in parts of 12 cities in December.
