Tom Brady Announces Retirement in April Fool's Tweet

Last week, the NFL's official Instagram page posted a graphic of Tom Brady and Gronkowski and which players caught the most touchdowns from Brady in their New England career. "In my spare time, I'll be tweeting". Meanwhile, if you're a football fan, you probably want Brady to retire immediately so your team can finally have a chance at winning a championship.

Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots speaks to the media during the New England Patriots Super Bowl LIII media availability at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta on January 29, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia.

OK, Tom. You got us.

Some fans, who clearly weren't paying very close attention to the calendar, were a little anxious after they saw Brady's tweet.

It took all of five minutes after Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement before people started to talk about the tight end's potential comeback.

Of course, Brady previously said he wanted to play until he was 45, adding that he feels faster now than he felt at age 18.

Second, why couldn't Brady send this out from his Facebook or Instagram accounts?
