Cardiff City Beat Manchester United 2-0 At Old Trafford

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men have secured just 5 points from their last 5 fixtures which includes embarrassing back-to-back defeats against Everton and Manchester City.

Solskjaer is planning a major squad overhaul in the summer with a host of players being linked with a move to the club.

Klopp's managerial prowess has been on full display this season, guiding a rejuvenated Liverpool side to within 1 point of the Premier League title and into the Champions League finals for the second time in two years.

"Definitely, I've had loads of conversations and they've been up front and honest", said Solskjaer when asked if the club's hierarchy and owners were aware of United's perilous state. It's not like a threat - but whoever's not ready on July 1 will probably stay and not travel with us on tour. For ourselves, the short-term focus in the league will be getting into the top four. One United academy graduate who has impressed this season, Scott McTominay, will start in midfield, alongside Paul Pogba, and Ander Herrera, who announced on Saturday that the match against Cardiff City will be his last one in a United jersey.

"The end of the season makes it clearer than when we had that great run of form".

"It is not like when I used to play, us or Arsenal would win the league. We're five or six [points] behind third, fourth and fifth, and that's who we need to challenge next year".

The team that finishes sixth will have to go through the qualifying stage which begins during pre-season, and often has its effects towards the fag end of the campaign.

"The last two games, we have not beaten two relegated teams". That's where we are at the moment, we have to work extremely hard. I've been in the reserves and we send them away saying, 'Come on, look after yourself.' Because you never know what the manager is going to do when you come back after the summer.

The French midfielder was scoring goals, providing assists and generally pulling the strings for Manchester United in a way that fans had hoped he would since he rejoined the club from Juventus. It's near embarrassing when you get clapped off the pitch with the support we have.
