OnePlus 7 Pro camera upgrades are reportedly coming

It's quite amusing that the promotional photos for the OnePlus 7 Pro have "Never Settle" written across the screen, yet they expect you to settle for their marketing nonsense. OnePlus seems to be aware of the issue of random inputs, which is occurring when a user opens the CPU-Z app on their phone. So OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T users will get the final Android Q version only after September or may be in October, while OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T may take few months extra after that.

Following the 7 Pro's debut, some Android fans managed to install the two software features on their older OnePlus devices by downloading applicable APK files. The app is reported to be triggering ghost touches with more intensity.

The OnePlus 7 Pro went on sale in China on May 21 and sales exceeded CNY 1 billion ($144 million) in just one minute, making it JD.com's best selling single product. With some users complaining about the quality of the images produced by the phone, the update is created to improve the photographs taken with the triple camera setup on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

OnePlus 7 Pro users are reporting of a display problem that is plaguing many units. Turns out, the telephoto lens isn't doing 3X optical zoom in the first place. ImKuya tested this in a video, illustrating how the camera shows a noticeable switch when you hit that 3x zoom, but that when you shoot portrait mode with the telephoto camera, it's more like a 2.2x zoom.

According to Digital Camera World, OnePlus appears to be using a "composite of image data" from the 48MP sensor and the optical zoom lens to create its digital shots.

OnePlus are advertising the camera as having 3x optical zoom but users have noticed that when using the portrait mode 3x optical zoom at 13MP is not possible. With 3x zoom, the telephoto camera delivers the advertised lossless 8 megapixels images. Portrait mode utilizes all 13 megapixels from the sensor in the telephoto camera. We have been waiting for this update and our full review of the handset will be live in the next couple of days after testing the cameras. What's your experience so far with the OnePlus 7 Pro? Do you think OnePlus is still able to claim 3X Optical Zoom because it has no loss of detail?
