Durant's Achilles surgery was performed in NY, and he has taken residency in the Big Apple while hearing free-agent pitches.

Earlier in the week, Durant opted out of his player option with the Warriors, making his free agent status official come June 30 at 6 p.m. ET.

National Basketball Association free agency 2019 is about to start and there are so many trade deals on their way to happening.

There is expected to be some combination of face-to-face meetings and communications by other means with Durant and his business manager, Rich Kleiman, front-office sources told ESPN.

Warriors President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Bob Myers, fresh off his new contract extension, is tentatively scheduled to travel to NY over the weekend, where Durant and his inner circle are located, league sources told The Athletic. The five-time All-Star and the Golden State Warriors are expected to agree to a max contract as soon as Sunday night.

After joining the Warriors in free agency in 2016, Durant and Golden State won two consecutive NBA championships before the Warriors fell to the Raptors in this year's NBA Finals - during which Durant ruptured his Achilles.

Despite probably missing the entire 2019-20 campaign, the two-time NBA Finals MVP remains a hot commodity for obvious reasons. According to ESPN, Durant will meet with the Warriors, Nets, Knicks and Clippers.

The other three teams are only permitted to extend a four-year, $164 million maximum offer to Durant. Golden State could run the Western Conference for the next half decade. After less than 12 minutes on the floor in his first game back, Durant sustained the Achilles tear. In the playoffs, he averaged 32.3 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 4.5 apg and 1 bpg.
