UAE- Man City sign Rodri for club record fee

Rodri had been contracted to Atletico until the summer of 2023 but the Spanish club has now confirmed his deal has been "unilaterally terminated" ahead of a move to Manchester City.

Manchester City's two new signings might just have opened the door for West Ham United to sign Fabian Delph.

The Premier League champions paid a £62.8million release clause to buy the Spain global from Atletico Madrid.

After Rodri made it clear he wanted to leave Atletico, City deposited the €70m to secure the 23-year-old's signature. "It is a style that excites me, as do the Club's ambitions", he added.

Guardiola is hoping to manage his game time to try and prolong his career, as he is eager to keep important players like Fernandinho around for as long as possible. This team is growing every year.

Get closer to the likes of Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Benjamin Mendy and the rest of Pep Guardiola's team.

Rodri is relishing the chance to work under the inspirational former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss. 'I'm really happy and excited to be here in Manchester It's a great step for me, a dream for me playing with these players with this coach. It felt Pep Guardiola had made the most competitive league in the world look ridiculously easy.

"I know what team I am joining", he said. I don't like talking about money. "Some of the people who have played for him tell me he is very committed and that he likes teaching players". "I like people only to ask me about what I am doing on the pitch".

Manchester City are reportedly ready to offer Fernandinho a new contract despite already signing his long-term replacement.

"I have lots of things to learn and I think with this coach, I am going to learn here".

Rodri had three goals and one assist in 34 La Liga appearances for Los Colchoneros last season, while Herrera contributed with six goals in 33 Liga NOS outings for Os Dragoes.
