Vancouver Island teens face murder charge as manhunt continues

Dyck's body was found July 19 at a highway pullout about two kilometres from a burned-out camper truck, discovered the same day, near the community of Dease Lake, B.C.

That man has now been identified as Leonard Dyck of Vancouver.

Canada-wide warrants are out for Schmegelsky and McLeod. The RCMP's Emergency Response Team, Crisis Negotiation Team and Air Services assets have also been deployed to the area.

The violent crimes have unnerved remote communities in the northern Canadian prairies - many of which have little police presence.

The Gillam-area is surrounded by forests and swamps, and has been described as unforgiving terrain for anyone who is not prepared. "This is a complex, ongoing investigation involving multiple jurisdictions. We are engaged with police across Canada". Police suppose that vehicle used to be later considered on fire advance Gillam, Manitoba, a runt city of about 1,000 within the northern share of the province.

A manhunt for the pair has been prolonged to the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, where there were reported sightings.

"The next stop is Ontario", Dionne said.

Extra officers have been brought in for a search about 70 kilometres northwest of the town near Fox Lake Cree Nation, where Chief Walter Spence has said police would be patrolling.

The Canadian military has stepped in to help in the search for B.C. murder suspects Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky after Mounties said someone may have "inadvertently" helped them leave the Gillam, Man. area.

Schmegelsky said it was possible his son went back to the store later to buy the memorabilia, but it's also possible he took a photo in the store or that it's staged.

The two were also reportedly seen at a gas station in Split Lake, Manitoba, about a two-hour drive west of Gillam.

Mr McLeod and Mr Schmegelsky, both from Vancouver Island, had been on their system to Yukon territory for work final week and revel in now now not been enthusiastic with their families since.

"If they are wandering around in the bush, they couldn't have picked a worse time because the sandflies came out three days ago and they're just voracious", he said.

"We are asking the public that if you spot Kam McLeod or Bryer Schmegelsky to consider them as unsafe - take no actions - do not approach - and call 911 immediately".

"We can now confirm that this is the vehicle that the suspects were travelling in", she said.

Hempstead said she had only limited interactions with Schmegelsky during that year, but what he would say to her was troubling.

"I was really surprised to see a tactical vehicle in town, obviously something that wouldn't come to a small town like Gillam", Forman said. "But nothing prepares me, nothing prepares my family for what we are going through now".

He said Bryer had told him he and Kam had been "training in war" in the woods for more than two years and were masters of camouflage. He was glad his son was getting outside and spending time with friends.

"That was their outdoor video game". "To know his attractive girlfriend, Chynna Deese of Charlotte, North Carolina also lost her life in this violent event is too cruel". North Carolina woman Chynna Deese, 24, and her Australian boyfriend Lucas Fowler, 23, were found dead on July 15, but that was about 470 kilometers from the burnt out vehicle. He said he last contacted them via text message on July 12.
