Manchester City vs Tottenham | Clash of two ideologies

Manchester City vs Tottenham | Clash of two ideologies

It is only Matchweek 2, but few Premier League days will match this.

Parrott's latest master class may edge him closer to a Premier League debut for Tottenham, but Ireland boss McCarthy has hinted the 17-year-old may not be part of his plans for games against Switzerland and Bulgaria next month despite his call-up to the senior squad.

Pep Guardiola's side rejected their initial approach, but reports suggested that the German champions would get their man in a transfer worth £91 million. It prompted Pochettino to hit back by saying his counterpart can "sometimes struggle to keep his position and be a gentleman".

"Which Spurs player would be on Pep Guardiola's shopping list?"

Tottenham are expected to be up against it, when they face a City side, who are not just continuing the defence of their title, but who go into the clash off the back of a 5-0 win on the opening day of the season.

Tottenham had to come from behind to beat Aston Villa at the new White Hart Lane, but I don't expect the manager to make the same mistake again, and leave out Christian Eriksen.

Guardiola made a decision to remove Aguero after 66 minutes and shouted at him as he left the field. So, he can do it, yeah.

"Troy has come in and scored two goals".

"He can do it". I never spoke with Sergio [Aguero] or Gabriel [Jesus] or Raz, with any of the people up front, about what are their dreams and targets and these kinds of things.

"To be honest I thought it was a goal".

"We played the best game in our time together, it was so good, but unfortunately not a win". So hopefully he can score goals. I was a football player, I know what it meas there.

"I was interested to see him in pre-season games and more interested to see that he wasn't involved in the first game of season".

"I'm happy with the last week with how he's doing (and) his performance in training".
