Raptors open 2019-20 season vs. Pelicans, Kawhi returns December 11

Cassidy Hubbarth, Tim Bontemps, Ohm Youngmisuk and Dave McMenamin list their favorite reunion games of the 2019-20 National Basketball Association season, naming: Kristaps Porzingis back in Madison Square Gardon for Dallas Mavericks vs.

In the league's opening-night doubleheader on October 22, the defending champion Toronto Raptors will host the New Orleans Pelicans at 8 p.m. ET, while the Los Angeles Lakers will face their fellow Staples Center residents, the Los Angeles Clippers, at 10:30 p.m. ET.

The league announced a major change in the number of nationally televised games starting at 10:30 the East as Golden State and the Lakers will start several games a half-hour earlier than usual.

- Instances of teams playing games on back-to-back days will be an all-time low for the fifth straight season.

The regular season ends with 13 games on April 15. Both games will air on TNT, and both will be played at 7:30 PM PT. March 5 - Finals rematch, but in a different arena, with Golden State's move to San Francisco.

- Miami at Milwaukee (5 p.m.): Four-time All-Star Jimmy Butler's first road game with the Heat is in Milwaukee, where he starred in college at Marquette. The Warriors will play only 11 games that begin at 10:30 p.m.

The NBA will feature five games on Christmas Day (Wednesday, Dec. 25 in Week 10) for the 12th year in a row.

The longest homestand of the season is four games: February 21 to 28.

Kemba Walker will return to Charlotte as a Celtic on November 7, and we'll have our first look at Terry Rozier as a Hornet.

- LA Clippers at Los Angeles Lakers (8 p.m., ESPN/ABC): The Lakers have won an NBA-record 23 games on Christmas.

A Martin Luther King Day afternoon game in Atlanta against Vince Carter and the Hawks on January 20. In contrast, James' first season with the Lakers saw injuries limit him to 55 games, with the team missing the postseason for the sixth consecutive season.
