Comedian Kevin Hart Injured in Car Crash

Both Hart and the driver suffered serious back injuries, TMZ said. There were two other people in the vehicle, including the driver.

The comedian wasn't driving the motor when it veered off the road and ended up in a ditch, trapping Hart and two other people inside.

A third occupant in the Barracuda, a 31-year-old woman from Woodland Hills, suffered only minor complaints of pain and sought her own aid, officials said.

Insiders said Hart first went home for medical treatment before he checked into a nearby hospital.

Although the vehicle is owned by Hart, he was not driving when the accident occurred nor was the driver under the influence, police told TMZ. The website obtained photos and videos showing the mangled vehicle off the side of the road. Kevin resides near the accident and police say he went home "to get medical attention".

The Night School actor bought himself the Barracuda in July as a 40th birthday present, and showed it off on Instagram shortly after making the big purchase, noting he'd nicknamed it "Menace".

The total number of emergency department visits for unintentional injuries in the United States in 2017 was 30.8 million, according to the CDC.
