How much does the new Apple Watch cost in Australia?

Apple has unwrapped a series of new devices, including three new iPhones, a Series 5 "always-on" Watch and a seventh generation iPad at its traditional autumn launch event in Cupertino.

The Series 5's display technology makes it possible to always see your watch face and complications without any drain on battery life. According to Apple, the Apple Watch Series 5 with GPS and GPS + Cellular both offer 32GB of storage, so you're getting the most storage no matter how much you spend.

Starting later this year, Apple Watch owners will be able to enroll to participate in these studies, when applicable, through the new Apple Research app.

In the Compass app on the watch, you can see latitude, longitude, current elevation and incline. Aluminum models will come in silver, gold and space grey and will be made from 100 percent recycled aluminum.

Apple Watch Series 5 was unveiled by Apple at its "Special Event" on Tuesday.

Now, though, Apple are offering the widest assortment of case materials and designs, ever.

Unveiled on stage at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California, on Thursday, the new version features a similar design to the Apple Watch Series 4 launched this time previous year but with a new screen that can remain on all the time. And there are other predictions that didn't come true.

Pricing starts at $399, will LTE-enabled models starting at $499. There are also a series of new colours, straps and case options, including titanium and ceramic ones.

Series 5 dives even further into Apple's focus on health and has added features for navigation, including a built-in compass. Emergency SOS has been improved: the cellular version can instantly call emergency services in many worldwide countries by simply holding the crown button down in an emergency.

The Series 5 with Global Positioning System starts at $399 while the cellular model starts at $499. Fresh Nike and Hermes watch faces are incoming as well. They'll be available in stores on September 20. It's worth noting that the Series 3 has been previously listed at that price, but those were often sales prices, and the new announcement from Apple is regarding the product's MSRP price.
